Accurate measurements are crucial for ensuring your custom Pikkuna fits perfectly. Our system automatically accounts for mounting hardware and edge widths, so you only need to measure your opening's usable clear space—the area where you want the transparent PVC film to cover.
Basic Rectangular Opening Measurements
For a simple rectangular opening, measure: (1) Width—measure the full horizontal distance between the left and right frame edges at the top of the opening where the curtain will attach; (2) Left Height—measure from the top frame edge down to the bottom frame edge on the left side; (3) Right Height—measure the same on the right side. Always measure in two places for height (left and right) because many openings aren't perfectly square—floor slopes, frame irregularities, or settling can create height differences. Openings with Doors (Zipper Access)
If you want a zipper door in your Pikkuna for easy access without removing the entire curtain, you'll need additional measurements: (1) All basic measurements above (width and both heights); (2) Door Width—the horizontal width you want the door opening to be (typically 80-100 cm for comfortable human passage); (3) Distance from Left Edge to Door—measure horizontally from the left edge of your opening to where you want the left side of the door to begin. This tells us where to position the zipper opening within the overall curtain width. The door height typically extends from near the bottom to near the top of the curtain, and you can specify any adjustments needed.
Do NOT Account for Edge Width
A critical point: measure only the clear opening space where you want the transparent film—do NOT add or subtract anything for the reinforced fabric border width. Our system automatically calculates and adds the appropriate border width based on your selected mounting method (turn buttons, hooks, Velcro, or screws each require slightly different border dimensions).
