What are the general installation tips?

Successful Pikkuna installation follows a systematic approach that ensures proper tension and a wrinkle-free appearance:

Step 1: Identify Your Mounting Order
Begin with the "dominant" edge—typically the top edge or the side with the most critical alignment (such as where a zipper door is located). Installing the dominant edge first establishes the curtain's position and makes it easier to achieve proper tension on the remaining edges. If your curtain has different mounting methods on different sides, install hooks before turn buttons or screws, as hooks are more forgiving during initial positioning.

Step 2: Temporarily Secure the Top Edge
Before permanently fastening any edge, use a staple gun to temporarily tack the top edge of the curtain to your frame. This holds the curtain in place while you check alignment and adjust positioning. Space the temporary staples every 50 cm or so—just enough to support the weight. This technique is especially helpful when working alone on larger curtains. Once you're satisfied with the position, you can install the permanent mounting hardware (turn buttons, screws, or Velcro) and remove the temporary staples.

Step 3: Work Systematically Around the Opening
After securing the top edge, move to the sides and finally the bottom. Install fasteners progressively rather than all at once—for example, attach every second mounting point first, check the tension, then fill in the remaining points. This approach allows you to adjust tension incrementally and prevents creating permanent wrinkles by over-tightening one area before others are secured.

Step 4: Check Tension and Alignment
Step back periodically during installation to verify that the curtain hangs straight without sagging or diagonal pulling. The surface should appear smooth and taut but not drum-tight. If you notice wrinkles or loose areas, slightly loosen nearby fasteners and redistribute the tension before fully tightening everything. It's easier to make adjustments during installation than to redo fasteners after completing the installation.

Important: Don't rush the installation. Taking an extra 15-20 minutes to carefully check alignment and tension will result in a much better final appearance and reduce the need for adjustments later.
